It's not live sports without crowd prompts—when the Royals are at bat, it's an incredible experience to hear Kauffman Stadium come alive to cheer their favorite player on toward incredible moments.
As part of my work at the Royals, I created a handful of crowd prompts. All made with a combination of After Effects, Element 3D, and Cinema 4D.
Baseball's superstitions still astound me, and one of the strangest I experienced in Kansas City was the Rally Mantis of the 2016 season. This little mascot won the hearts of the whole team and fanbase for a brief time, so we created a special crowd prompt to keep the fan experience in Kauffman unique.
This is easily the strangest animation I've ever been asked to make.
